Educational Theatre Productions
Put Health in the Limelight
For more than 25 years, Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre Program has been inspiring children, teens, and parents to make better decisions about healthy eating, active living, and other behaviors by offering live, interactive theater programs to schools and community groups.
In 2010, our free theatre performances brought age-appropriate health information, in the form of music, humor, dance, and drama, to a record 737,000 students and an additional 377,000 adults. Across all our regions, our ETP troupes, some of which feature teen actors from participating schools, staged 2,586 performances of a total of 35 different productions.
One of the prime goals of our ETP companies has been reaching audiences that are racially, socio-economically, culturally, and geographically diverse. In 2010, our ETP company in Northern California was recognized for achievement in promoting diversity by being awarded the 2010 Multicultural Award by the California Educational Theater Association.
