Supporting Health Equity Through Executive/Workforce Diversity Learning
Responding to health care needs of a racially, ethnically, and linguistically diverse membership requires strengthening Kaiser Permanente’s pipeline of diverse candidates for executive staff positions and development of a programwide diversity learning strategy for all work streams. Both demands are getting high-level attention in 2011 in a comprehensive effort to further the organization’s National Diversity Strategy.
We’re proud of the progress we’ve achieved in recent years. For the third consecutive year, Kaiser Permanente ranks No. 1 on Diversity MBA Magazine’s “50 Out Front for Diversity Leadership: Best Places for Diverse Managers to Work.” But a recent needs assessment of diversity learning programs and resources across all Kaiser Permanente regions revealed a clear need for a comprehensive national strategy that could address gaps in diversity learning.
