Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Northern Cali

For Grantees & Community Partners

As a health care provider with a longstanding commitment to prevention and quality care, we appreciate the important contributions of our grantees and are glad to be working together.

Crediting your Kaiser Permanente grant

We always appreciate a credit to Kaiser Permanente when promoting the work supported by our grant. The standard line we request grantees use when crediting us is "The project is supported by Kaiser Permanente Northern California Community Benefit Programs."

If you have room for a longer description, such as in your newsletter or on your website, we suggest this wording:

Kaiser Permanente's community involvement uniquely pairs grant funding with 65 years of clinical expertise, medical research, and volunteerism to support prevention-focused, evidence-based programs that are expanding access to care and creating healthy environments. Kaiser Permanente recently awarded [your organization] a $[your amount] grant that will help more people in this community get access to the resources they need to lead a healthy life. For more information about Kaiser Permanente's work in the community, visit www.kp.org/communitybenefit/ncal.

Using the Kaiser Permanente logo

If you would like to use a Kaiser Permanente logo along with the credit line above, please contact your grant manager or NCAL-CB-Programs@kp.org. Let us know your requested file type (JPEG or EPS) and color (blue or black). As a nonprofit organization, the Kaiser Permanente logo cannot be used on any materials that imply endorsement of legislation or a candidate.

Getting the word out and press releases

We're here to help communicate the news of your grant and ongoing successes. There are many opportunities to tell the story of your important work, starting with receiving a new Kaiser Permanente grant. There are many ways to reach out to your partners, the community, your stakeholders, and the media including your newsletter, Web site, social media, donor communications—or all of the above. To help make it easy to reference Kaiser Permanente's role as a funder of your work, wording is provided above. If you are interested in partnering on a press release, please contact your grant manager or NCAL-CB-Programs@kp.org.

Webinars for new grantees

Kaiser Permanente is now kicking off all new grants with an introductory webinar. It is very important you attend this webinar. You will learn about requirements crucial to your grant. If the grant administrator is unable to attend, someone else from the organization may take their place. Webinars are currently offered quarterly. You must register in order to attend. Please register for the webinar closest to your grant's start date.

  • Register for June 6, 2013, 2 PM webinar
  • Register for September 12, 2013, 2 PM webinar

Storytelling template and tips

Personal stories and testimonials are some of the most effective ways to illustrate the value of your work. Stories touch people's hearts and lodge in their memories. They can be extremely effective in fundraising appeals, donor and board communications, and funding applications. Reporting requirements for Kaiser Permanente grants ask for a story about your work midway and/or at the end of your grant. We also appreciate your sharing stories with us at any point.
