Grants
At Kaiser Permanente our charitable mission is to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. One of our Community Benefit investments is grantmaking. In 2011, Kaiser Permanente Colorado awarded $9 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in the communities we serve. Through commitments and partnerships with community groups, school districts, health care systems and government organizations, we work to improve the community at-large by addressing issues and concerns that affect its overall health.
Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s Community Benefit initiatives:
- leverage our assets and competencies,
- implement strategies to address inequities and determinants of health,
- deliver sustainable value to the community by achieving scale and impact,
- use evidence-informed practices,
- and are designed to achieve an impactful return on investment.
What Kaiser Permanente Colorado Supports
At this time, Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s grantmaking is invitation only or through strategic Request for Proposals.
Our grants support organizations and programs that aim to improve health among individuals by improving community health. Kaiser Permanente Colorado funds efforts that are evidence, population and/or prevention-based, cost-effective, collaborative, and seek to create sustainable systems improvements.
Our grant funding allows us to forge meaningful partnerships with local nonprofits, public agencies, like-minded foundations, and other institutions.
Kaiser Permanente also has a national grantmaking program for nonprofits with a wider geographic scope.
