Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s Community Health Initiatives (CHI) seek to improve public health concerns in our state such as obesity, low children’s immunization rates, and racial and ethnic health disparities.
Our Community Health Initiatives seek to measurably improve the health of the communities we serve. CHI takes Kaiser Permanente beyond the doctor's office and makes healthy choices more readily available in schools, neighborhoods, workplaces, and health care settings. Through funding, technical expertise, and community engagement, we invest in population-based approaches that emphasize prevention and evidence-based practices. Our public health interventions, community activism, and environmental and policy work are designed to transform community conditions that influence health.
Currently, the CHI focus is on obesity prevention/Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL). Our efforts fall into four main categories:
