Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Northern Cali

East Bay

In addition to providing health care and coverage for low-income people, Kaiser Permanente's community investments include grants, sponsorships, and volunteerism.

The East Bay service area serves cities located in West Contra Costa County and Northern Alameda County.

 

Grants

Our grantmaking supports projects addressing:

  • Prevention of Community Violence
  • Prevention of Obesity and Overweight
  • Improvements in Perinatal Health
  • Asthma Management

 

To apply

The 2013 Community Benefit Grants Program is now closed. If you are interested in the 2014 grant program, please send an email to Public-Affairs-Community-Benefits@kp.org and we will alert you when the 2014 Grant Application becomes available in early 2014.

 

Sponsorships

The Kaiser Permanente East Bay Public Affairs department will consider sponsorship requests for local community activities and civic events, under the Community Relations or Community Benefit programs.

Types of requests that will be accepted for consideration include but are not limited to:

  • Special events, e.g.. health fairs, dinners, lunches, cultural events or fundraisers
  • Conferences and forums
  • Symposia
  • Health education forums
  • Health campaigns, programs and initiatives

Community Benefit sponsorship requests must be in alignment with one of the identified Community Benefit priority areas which include:

  • Prevention of obesity and overweight
  • Childhood asthma
  • Prevention of community violence
  • Improvements in perinatal health
  • Access to health insurance coverage and health care services

Please review the Sponsorship Application Guide for full instructions and details, then submit the Sponsorship Online Application.

Sponsorships will be accepted on an on-going basis through September 20, 2013 via the online application tool. Requests should be submitted a minimum of 60 days prior to the event or start of the project. Requests will be funded only for events or programs within the current year.

If, in addition to monetary support, in-kind support is requested (e.g. tabling/staffing support, health education materials, promotional items or speakers), please specify in the application.
