In addition to providing health care and coverage for low-income people, Kaiser Permanente's community investments include grants, sponsorships, and volunteerism. The Kaiser Permanente Fresno Community Benefit program service area includes the eastern part of Fresno County, most of Madera County, the northeast part of Kings County, and just into the northwest of Tulare County.
Grants
Our grantmaking supports:
- Programs that increase the number of low-income people enrolled in and maintaining health insurance coverage, and that increase access to health care services for low-income and uninsured individuals
- Initiatives that reduce calorie intake, increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and increase physical activity in community and institutional settings
- Programs that improve the management of diabetes, asthma, and cardiovascular disease
- Programs that increase academic and job-readiness skills for at-risk youth and support development of workforce capacity, job skills, and employment opportunities for low-income earners and unemployed adults

Sponsorships
Sponsorship and mini-grant applications for activities, such as community health fairs, health education forums, conferences, symposiums, and short-term projects, are accepted on an ongoing basis from January 1, 2013 through October 31, 2013. Sponsorship requests must be submitted electronically a minimum of 45 days prior to the project start date and cannot exceed $5,000.

Access the online application. As part of the sponsorship application process, you will need to download and complete the Fresno Budget Template and Nondiscrimination Statement and submit through the online application.
