Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Northern Cali

San Mateo

In addition to providing health care and coverage for low-income people, Kaiser Permanente's community investments include grants, sponsorships, and volunteerism. Kaiser Permanente San Mateo Area supports nonprofit organization serving Redwood City, South San Francisco and surrounding areas.

Grants:

Our grantmaking supports projects addressing: 

1. Obesity rates

  • Increase physical activity in institutional settings
  • Increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables

 

2. Access to health insurance coverage and health care services

  • Increase the number of low-income people enrolled in or maintaining health insurance coverage
  • Increase access to health care services for low-income and uninsured individuals at risk for chronic conditions
  • Increase access by providing transportation for high-need seniors to their medical appointments

 

3. At-risk youth behavior

  • Decrease rates of teen alcohol and substance abuse
  • Reduce depression among teens
  • Reduce pregnancy rates (Redwood City area only)

 

4. Poor health in aging population

  • Increase access to social services for seniors
  • Help seniors remain physically and mentally active, and eat nutritious food

 

5. Violence

  • Protect victims and their families from violence

 

Applications for 2013 Community Grants Are Now Being Accepted

We are now soliciting electronic applications for our 2013 Community Benefit Grants Program.

 

Application Process and Timeline

The application and all required attachments must be received by Friday, March 15, 2013 (5:00pm).

To apply, please use the online 2013 San Mateo Area Grant Application.

In addition, please complete and submit the following supplemental documents as part of the electronic application:

  • San Mateo Area Supplemental Grant Document
  • San Mateo Area Budget Template
  • San Mateo Area Workplan Template

 

Grant award decisions will be announced at the end of June 2013.

Events and sponsorships are considered on an on-going basis throughout the year and are also required to align with our current goals and priorities.
