Kaiser Permanente Community Benefit, Northern Cali

San Francisco

In addition to providing health care and coverage for low-income people, Kaiser Permanente's community investments include grants, sponsorships, and volunteerism. Kaiser Permanente San Francisco supports nonprofit organizations located in and serving the City and County of San Francisco.

Grants

Our grantmaking supports projects that address the following local priority areas:

  • Access to health care services for low-income and uninsured individuals—specifically in 2012: services for low-income people with HIV/AIDS.
  • Reduce obesity rates in children and adults (eligibility for this priority area detailed in the 2012 Grant Guidelines).
  • Reduce alcohol and drug use rates in youth ages 12-24.
  • Reduce rates of community violence among youth ages 12-24.

For more information, please view our 2012 Grant Guidelines.

Grantmaking Deadline and Details:

  • The funding range for the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco 2012 Responsive Grants Program is $10,000-$20,000.
  • We accept only one funding request (grant or sponsorship) from an eligible agency each calendar year (Jan. 1-Dec. 31).
  • Grant applicants may apply under only one funding priority area.
  • Conference support requests should be submitted through the Sponsorships request process described below.

The application deadline is Friday, September 7, 2012, 5pm.

This is the only time in 2012 that the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Community Benefit Program will be accepting applications to the Responsive Grants Program.

To Apply

  • Review the 2012 Grant Guidelines
  • Review the application instructions and application FAQ
  • Access the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Community Benefit Program 2012 Grant Application online
  • Download, complete, and submit these three additional documents via the online application:
    • Supplemental Grant Application
    • Workplan Template
    • Budget Template

Sponsorships

We support:

  • Local nonprofit organizations whose mission and services align closely with the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Community Benefit priority areas listed above.
  • Local community events and activities that reflect Kaiser Permanente's mission and cause, and align with the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Community Relations program through partnerships, direct sponsorships, and volunteer efforts.

Applications for sponsorships are accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis throughout the year, and must be received a minimum of three months prior to the date of the event. We encourage at least six months, especially for events held in the fall (Sept-Nov).

To apply for a sponsorship, review our Request Guidelines for Community Event and Activity Support.
