At Kaiser Permanente Northwest, we believe healthy communities make for healthy people. Through charitable care, research, grant programs, employee giving, and volunteerism, we continue to make real and lasting changes.
We have five primary program areas:
We create and support programs that allow uninsured children and adults to have access to the medical and dental care we provide.
Programs include Medical Financial Assistance and Project Access NOW .
We partner with community clinics, local health departments, and public hospitals to improve care and expand their capacity to treat vulnerable populations.
Programs include our collaboration with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC) on clinical quality improvement and oral health initiatives.
We create and support long-term programs that engage communities in working to improve conditions in their neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces.
Programs include our Educational Theatre Program, a partnership with Oregon Children’s Theatre.
We are dedicated to advancing health through research, education, and training. Our Center for Health Research conducts hundreds of health-related studies, and we offer continuing education opportunities to community health care providers.

We cultivate partnerships with like-minded community organizations and provide support to employees who are active in shaping the health of their communities through involvement and volunteerism. We also advocate for public policies that help promote health in our communities.

All of these initiatives support our belief that by working together, we are so much more than the sum of our parts.
