Our Work

Addressing Health Disparities

We are committed to eliminating health care disparities. Our Safety Net Partnerships are critical to providing equal access to health care regardless of race, ethnicity, or income level. We are dedicated not only to improving clinical care for racial and ethnic populations, but also to investing in communities and promoting good health for all Americans. In addition to our groundbreaking work in Healthy Eating Active Living initiatives, we are a proud sponsor of PBS' Unnatural Causes series on health disparities. We are also a founding member of the National Health Plan Collaborative, a joint effort of 12 of the largest health care providers in the country that addresses health disparities. We are actively engaged in improving diabetes care and asthma management in ethnic communities, and have worked with community groups to promote the use of promotoras (lay health workers).
