Estimating your costs
Part of getting the most out of your deductible plan is knowing how much and when you can expect to pay for services. When you have an idea of what you’ll pay before and after your visit, you’ll feel more confident about getting the care you need to stay healthy.
Before your visit—the Estimates tool
With our online Estimate tool you can get an estimate of what you’ll need to pay for many common exams, tests, and procedures. Estimates are based on your plan benefits and whether you’ve met your annual deductible — so they’re tailored to your personal situation.
To use this secure feature, you’ll need to be registered at kp.org.

During your visit — know what to expect
By using the tools on this page, you'll have a better idea of what to expect when you come in for care.
During your visit, you'll be asked to make a payment toward the total amount you owe for your scheduled services. This may include copays, coinsurance, or deductible payments, depending on the types of services you're expected to receive and whether or not you've reached your deductible.
If you have a health reimbursement arrangement (HRA), health savings account (HSA), or flexible spending account (FSA) and received a debit card for your account, you can use it to help pay for qualified medical expenses.
Your payment at check-in may cover only part of what you owe for your visit, especially if you receive unscheduled services that result in additional charges. If so, you'll get a bill for the balance later.
After your visit — the Out-of-Pocket Summary tool
With our Out-of-Pocket Summary tool, you can see how close you are to meeting your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. That way, you’ll have a better idea of whether you’ll pay a copay, coinsurance, or deductible payment the next time you get care. The tool shows a lot of the same information as your Summary of Accumulation (SOA), and you can use it 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That makes getting the information you need convenient.
To use this secure feature, you’ll need to be registered at kp.org.
