As part of the hospital expansion of our Oakland Medical Center, we’re redesigning the setup of our operating suites and patient rooms to enhance patient comfort and help ensure timely delivery of care.
The new facility will have separate inpatient and outpatient operating suites. While they will be located on the same floor, the suites will be in separate areas.
The outpatient area is designed for the comfort of patients and their families. A dedicated outpatient environment will also help staff provide care more efficiently.
“Separate inpatient operating suites will let staff and physicians focus all of their attention on the most critical and complex operations and the sickest patients that require hospitalization,” says John Loftus, MD, physician in chief at our Oakland Medical Center.
Also, every patient room will be single-occupancy.
