Take note of these moves in South Sacramento and Elk Grove

The new South Tower at our South Sacramento Medical Center is scheduled to open this September and the Promenade Medical Offices in Elk Grove are scheduled to open in November. That means some departments and physicians will be moving, so check the list below to keep track of who and what will be where.

In September 2011:

  • Inpatient Pharmacy in the main hospital will close and move to the 1st floor of the new South Tower.
  • Outpatient Pharmacy 2 in Medical Office Building (MOB) 2 will close and move to the 1st floor of the new South Tower. It will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Pharmacy 1 in MOB 2 will remain open. New hours will be 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

In November 2011:

  • Sports Medicine Department will move from MOB 2 in the South Sacramento Medical Center to the 2nd floor of the Promenade Medical Offices, 10305 Promenade Parkway, Elk Grove.
  • A number of our primary care physicians in South Sacramento and Elk Grove will be relocating. In South Sacramento, that includes many doctors in Pediatrics E on the 3rd floor of MOB 3; Ob/Gyn C on the 3rd floor of MOB 2; and Adult Medicine J and K on the 2nd floor of MOB 3.

If your doctor is moving, you will receive a letter. You can choose to see your doctor at the new location or select a new doctor at a more convenient location.

A free class can help you make your wishes known

What you would want to happen if you suddenly became seriously ill? By completing a legal form called an advance health care directive, you can make sure your wishes are respected if you become too ill to make your own health decisions. This form is the only way to legally ensure that your wishes will be met — and it’s important to complete at any age.

We offer a free two-hour class for members and guests who want more information. You’ll receive advance health care directive forms to take home and, in consultation with your families, fill out as part of your permanent health record.

“It’s best to explore your goals, values, and thoughts about quality of life when you’re healthy,” says Margot Fermer, RN, manager of Palliative Care at South Sacramento. “Don’t wait until your life and health are in crisis and the people around you are emotional.”

To register for the class, call:

  • Roseville: 916-784-4050
  • Sacramento: 916-614-4040
  • South Sacramento: 916-688-2428

If you need more help completing an advance directive or want to discuss life care planning, call one of our social work offices and schedule an appointment:

  • Roseville: 916-784-4801
  • Sacramento: 916-973-6910
  • South Sacramento: 916-688-6472

Pick up advance health care directive forms and instructions at any Kaiser Permanente Health Education Department. Learn more and download forms in English or Spanish.
