Changes at the San Rafael Medical Center

Every detail of our medical centers’ design and appearance is chosen with well-being in mind.

Here are a few of the changes we’ve made to the San Rafael Medical Center to help improve your next visit:

  • Environmentally friendly PVC-free paint and flooring — including rubber flooring for a softer walking surface — installed in the hospital and medical offices.
  • Photographs of Marin County taken by the staff and a new color scheme, to create a pleasing environment.
  • New furniture added to patient rooms, nursing stations, and some lobbies.
  • New countertops and refaced cabinets for an updated look.

“Unique to the planning and design of the project has been the multidisciplinary teamwork,” says Laura Eberhard, MD, assistant physician in chief for hospital operations and quality. “Physicians, nurses, and hospital staff are working alongside the design team to create a healing environment for delivering and receiving care.”
