We’re expanding services in North County San Diego, bringing care for you and your family closer to home. You can choose from one of our nearby facilities:

• San Marcos Outpatient Medical Center — Primary and specialty care, urgent and intermediate care.
• Palomar Medical Center (a Plan hospital) — Hospitalization, emergency services, labor and delivery services. (This is a contracted Plan facility. The Emergency Department at this facility is not appropriate for urgent care. Use of the Emergency Department for urgent care may not be paid for by Kaiser Permanente.)

Primary and specialty care services are also available at our medical offices in Carlsbad, Escondido, Oceanside, Rancho Bernardo, and Vista.

And we came to you with the Kaiser Permanente Mobile Health Vehicle, which made bi-weekly visits in Fallbrook from January through April. The vehicle is equipped with advanced technology and exam rooms, and connects to your electronic health record. Members could schedule an office visit with the doctor on call in the Mobile Health Vehicle, view educational videos, and get various health screenings.

You can also connect with us online. For care you receive at Kaiser Permanente facilities, you can:

• email your doctor’s office with routine questions
• view results of most lab tests
• schedule routine appointments
• refill most prescriptions and have them mailed
• view your or your child’s recent immunization records
• research thousands of health topics
• sign up for classes (some of which may require a fee) and healthy lifestyle programs
• find facilities and locations

Outpatient surgery coming to North County San Diego

A new Ambulatory Surgery Center is coming to our San Marcos Outpatient Medical Center in North County San Diego. We’ll break ground this summer and expect to open the new facility in fall 2012.

“In the past, our North County members have had to travel to other Kaiser Permanente facilities or go to contract outpatient surgery centers,” says Annie Russell, associate medical group administrator for San Diego. “We’re pleased to bring our own Kaiser Permanente physicians, staff, and other outpatient specialty services to this community.”

The new building is the fourth on the San Marcos campus. It will include four operating suites and a gastroenterology procedure suite equipped with advanced medical technology, as well as pre- and post-operative patient care areas.
